Overview

Join us for an evening of short films celebrating artists in Tinworks 2025 season exhibition, A Kin to Clay. Screenings begin at 7pm.

Frances Senska: Evolving Forms, 1978. Directed by Tim Schwab. Running time 16:32 minutes. Produced by MSU film students, an artistic documentary that illuminates the practice of Bozeman's beloved artist and founder of MSU ceramics department.

Marguerite: From the Bauhaus to Pond Farm, 2023. Directed by David Washburn. Running time 26:46 minutes. The story of Marguerite Wildenhain, one of the most influential pottery schools in the US and the extraordinary artist who ran it for more than 30 years.

Theaster Gates: Oh, The Wind, 2021. Directed by Theaster Gates. Running time 11:57 minutes. Filmed at the Archie Bray Foundation for the Ceramic Arts, this video artwork connects improvisational Black music traditions performed by Gates to historical ceramic production.
